Our Programs

From first-day comfort to in-home assistance and community-based resources, our programs for foster families are designed to meet real needs.

Caring Companions

Our flagship Caring Companions program places trained, trauma-informed volunteers in child welfare offices to care for children while they wait for placement or for other services. These volunteers create a safe, calm environment—offering snacks, Go Bags filled with necessities and activities, and emotional support.

Even as the landscape of foster care has changed, this work remains core to our mission. In the moments that matter most, we still show up.

Caregiver Support Project

As more children are placed in foster homes or with relatives and kinship caregivers, the need for consistent support has grown. Our Caregiver Support Project deploys Sidekick volunteers and Behavioral Case Aides who provide consistent, relationship-based assistance—from delivering essentials to offering a helping hand with daily tasks.

This support relieves caregiver stress, prevents burnout, and helps ensure stable placements for children navigating major life transitions.

Heart & Home Services

Fosterful also strengthens the caregiving journey through Heart & Home Services, which includes:

  • Caregiver Collective Support Groups

  • Workshops and Training

  • Service Projects

  • Seasonal Resource Giveaways like back-to-school backpacks, Halloween costumes, and holiday gifts

These services build connection and community while ensuring caregivers have the tools—and encouragement—they need to keep going.
