Our Impact
From offering comfort in child welfare offices to providing consistent, in-home support to caregivers, Fosterful connects compassionate people to real-time, high-impact opportunities to make a difference.
From one child at a time to systemic support
Fosterful began with a powerful idea: no child should wait alone on their first day in foster care. What started in 2013 as Office Moms & Dads, a small but mighty group of volunteers providing comfort in child welfare offices, has grown into a dynamic nonprofit supporting children and caregivers across the foster care journey.

What We Do
Fosterful offers a three-part support model to ensure children and caregivers are met with compassion, connection, and consistent help—right when they need it most.
-
Our flagship Caring Companions program places trained, trauma-informed volunteers in child welfare offices to care for children while they wait for placement or for other services. These volunteers create a safe, calm environment—offering snacks, Go Bags filled with necessities and activities, and emotional support.
Even as the landscape of foster care has changed, this work remains core to our mission. In the moments that matter most, we still show up.
-
As more children are placed with kinship and foster caregivers, the need for consistent support at home and in the community has grown. Our Caregiver Support Project deploys volunteers and Behavioral Case Aides who provide weekly, relationship-based assistance—from delivering essentials to offering a helping hand with daily tasks. This support relieves caregiver stress, prevents burnout, and helps ensure stable placements for children navigating major life transitions.
-
Fosterful also strengthens the caregiving journey through Heart & Home Services, which include:
Caregiver Collective Support Groups
Workshops and Trainings
Service Projects
Seasonal Resource Giveaways like back-to-school backpacks, Halloween costumes, and holiday gifts
These services build connection and community while ensuring caregivers have the tools—and encouragement—they need to keep going.
